- Here are a few tunes I did ages ago, when all I had was the KORG 05R/W. A
- few of them fade out at the end, I do this with a program change on channel
- 8 which changes the mix on my simmons SPM8:2 mixer, so they might end funny
- using your equipment. Apart from that, they should sound OK on most GM
- modules. Please feel free to mess about with them, see how they are
- constructed, using the PLAY SEQ method. Until recently I thought most
- Music-X users employed this method, but on receiving Music-X songs from
- other musicians, I've found a lot of them are using the cues to bring in
- sequences (which means you can only play that seq once, without copying it
- to an other empty seq) or, making each seq the length of the song, and all
- sequences start at 0 on the cues,(which means loads of long sequences). I'm
- sure anybody using the above two methods will find the PLAY SEQ method a
- revelation, which will change your Music-X lifestyle drasticly! By
- switching the cues off and writing a seperate seq called the"PLAY SEQUENCE"
- You can bring the same sequence in and out whenever you want, for as long
- as you want, as many times as you want. Try it, its great. If you intend to
- use any, or any part of my material for commercial gain, please call me and
- we will come to some arrangement.

- ** NOTE **
- The cache of Music-X control track Performance files kindly donated by Neil
- have been converted to Sequence file format 0 and Performance file format 1
- which have in turn been converted to Standard MIDI File format 0 and 1
- files and the format 1 (SMF) have been converted to KORG .SNG file format
- respectively.. The files were configured as General MIDI (GM) as the Korg
- 05R/W is GM compatible, the addition of a General MIDI "ON" SYSEX message
- has been included which resets all GM devices to pianos together with zero
- volume and zero PitchBend on all 16 MIDI Channels!
-
- "GM mode on" SYSEX message embedded in TRACK 1 of all the Music-X files
- and Standard MIDI Files at bar 00 :-
-
- (7E,7F,09,01)(EOX)
-
- Followed by these example MIDI Controllers and PGM messages

- PGM 01 - GM Standard KIT
- PGM 09 - Room KIT
- PGM 17 - Power KIT
- PGM 25 - Electronic KIT
- PGM 26 - TR-808 KIT

- regular useage..
-
- Usually at the end of the score a CTL 121 with a value of zero and PBEND 0
- are used to reset the GM synths thereby enabling the external MIDI synth
- to be in a ready state for the next MIDI file and its various Controllers
- and PGM data etc..
-
- Hope this information is useful to somebody..
